What qualifications do the teachers have?

Our teachers are certified with first aid, CPR, Police checks and insurance certificates. We are a Yoga Alliance Australia member.


I have never done Yoga before

Yoga is suitable for all ages, fitness levels and flexibility levels. Yoga classes are not competitive and classes are designed for you to work within your own range of movement and ability. You do not have to be flexible or have previous experience. Note:Yoga classes do not claim to provide or include diagnosis of illness or injury and should not be replaced for any other health or medical care or advice. We do advise that you consult your health care professional before you take part in any form of exercise.


Do you provide mats?

We can provide mats on negotiation and for students booking a block of classes it is recommended that they bring their own mat.


We are all at different levels

Classes are designed to allow for different levels of ability and postures are modified to suit students.


What am I to expect in a class?

Classes start with a warm-up that allows everyone to stretch out then moving standing poses to increase fitness and strength focussing on the breath and floor based postures then relaxation. All classes integrate Hatha, Vinyasa and relaxation styles.


Can I eat before class?

It is recommended that you do not eat a heavy meal one to one and half hours before class as to not get an upset stomach. It is okay for eat a light snack before class. Ensure you drink enough water to stay hydrated during the day.


Where are the classes held?

Depending on what type yoga class you choose, classes may be held at your workplace, sport club, event space or private home. It is best to use a non-carpeted space in the first instance but this not vital. The area will need to be clean, and free of chairs and tables. A heater or air-conditioning is recommended depending on the weather.


How long is the class?

Depending on what type yoga class you choose it may vary from 40 to 90 minutes.


What should I wear?

Clothing that is easy and non-restrictive to move in is most appropriate such as leggings, loose stretchy trousers, shorts, singlets, t-shirts and crop tops. Bare feet are required for class.


What if I am injured?

Yoga is great to getting back into movement and healing the body in a gentle way. If you are injured please make the teacher aware of this and they may need to modify postures for you. Please note that yoga classes do not claim to provide or include diagnosis of illness or injury and should not be replaced for any other health or medical care or advice. We do advise that you consult your health care professional before you take part in any form of exercise. You may need to provide a medical certificate to confirm you are able to participate if injured.


What if I a pregnant?

Yoga is a wonderful practice when you are pregnant. It is generally not advised to practice yoga or any other natural therapy in the first trimester, however second and third trimester students are more than welcome. Postures can be modified to allow for a safe practice. Please note that yoga classes do not claim to provide or include diagnosis of illness or injury and should not be replaced for any other health or medical care or advice. We do advise that you consult your health care professional before you take part in any form of exercise. You may need to provide a medical certificate to confirm you are able to participate in class.


How much does it cost?

Prices will vary depending on your package. Get in touch to receive a personalised quote that suits your needs with payment options.


How do we pay?

Payment will vary depending on your package. You may have the choice of your employer or sporting club paying or they may pay a portion of the cost or you may pay the whole cost yourself. You will be invoiced for the cost of your package and required to pre-pay for class/classes commence.


Can I get a refund?

No refunds can be given for missed classes however an option to make up the class may be available in some instances.


Do I need to fill out any forms?

Before commencement of class individuals will be required to fill out a pre-screen form to inform Get Bendy Yoga Australia of your personal contact details and any information or medical information that we need to be aware of. All individuals will be required to sign a medical release form before commencing any classes. All information collected will be stored in line with the Privacy Act.


Are your classes available outside the Melbourne central business district?

Yes, we can travel outside the central business district, extra travel costs may apply.


Can I claim my classes with private health?

Please contact your health care provider to check.
